ABOUT THE FEDERATION (SAHAS)
SAHAS operates as an umbrella organization, bringing together a federation of more than 35 independent Afghan Hindu and Sikh associations Founded as a 501(c)(3) public charity on August 15, 2021, in New York, USA, its mission is to foster formal collaboration Afghan Hindus Sikhs globally.
The members are united by similar goals and collaborate to accomplish significant objectives. As a result, they created a federation of associations and societies to support each other in advancing their shared cause.
PUBLIC NON-FOR-PROFIT 501(c)(3)
SAHAS serves as a Global Federation for Afghan Hindus and Sikhs, incorporated in New York, USA. This non-profit organization operates exclusively for religious, educational, and charitable purposes, in accordance with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, while adhering to the laws governing non-profit organizations in New York State.
SAHAS is the only recognized legal entity authorized to represent the interests of Afghan Hindus and Sikhs at the United Nations (UN) and other governmental bodies. Its mandate focuses on advocating for the rights and interests of Afghan Hindus and Sikhs on a global scale across various governmental and non-governmental forums.
