Who We Are  ?

Tolerant Resilient and peace loving Afghan Hindus and Sikhs

Our Story

Afghanistan was originally a Hindu country, Its ancient name was ‘Upgansthan’ Hindus and Sikhs Afghans were born there, and have lived in Afghanistan for generations, Chashma Sahib of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Sultanpur, Mathura Das Temple near Jalalabad, and a mountain in Kabul named AsaMai after a Hindu Goddess, Maa Durga and statue of Buddha in Bamiyan has stood for more than 2000 years. The ageless Asa Mai Mountain, the 2,000-year-old Buddha, Chashma Sahib and the Mathura Das Temple may still stand, but there will be no worshipers, generations of Afghans Hindus and Sikhs will grow up on foreign shores without knowing their land, culture, and language. The once-thriving Hindu community in Afghanistan which numbered over 200,000 has now dwindled in different parts of the world.
